Lou is an aspiring author and retired Reading Specialist who has always written stories for children, but after her diagnosis with multiple myeloma in 2013 her writing has taken a different direction. Lou and her husband David have navigated a complex series of treatments, side effects, remissions, and relapses. During the twelve years, Lou has always kept a Caring Bridge journal describing the myeloma journey.
David and Lou have talked about turning the Caring Bridge journal into a book and finally completed it this summer (2025). Their wish is that their book gives hope to others who are on their own cancer journey.
